Imagine how many people stopped going to church when christians were being fed to the lions and being dipped in wax to be used as candles 1500 years ago. If you look at the history of the church and even religion in general it swings like a great pendulm in our soceity. People fall away, and come back. that said i doubt the church will look the same as it does now. (Mega churches and the like) but it will survive in one form or another.
