I think I need say no more than this: This topic speaks aloud, most elegantly, exactly why I find religion so very repulsive. With such an enormous mass of "lawless" people, almost any crime seems to be able to pass unnoticed for the most part. The Catholic church is flamboyant evidence of this. When you get such a group of people, who believe that their actions are divinely sanctioned, organized anarchy breaks out. With no real government to subdue them, and only an imaginary friend in their subconscious to guide them, all kinds of heinous acts will occur. Ethnic cleansing and other forms of extreme discrimination have occurred in every major religious uprising (like witch hunting, and the burning of thousands of protestants for example). Progress stops and we rapidly descend into a dark age, as happened about 1500 years ago when the Roman empire fell, just as a Roman named Hero developed a steam powered device, which actually became the basis of the Victorian technology in the industrial revolution! Just think what could have happened, had not muscular Christianity thrown us into a dark age!
Thanks a fucking lot religion. Whatever would we do without you?: Oh, I don't know, perhaps we would be exploring the galaxy by now, with no risk of illness because doctors thousands of years ago would have already developed germ theory, instead of passing it off as God's punishment? And maybe, just maybe, thousands of children and adults would not have been raped by divinely appointed priests, as is probably happening right now, on top of some pulpit somewhere in the Vatican.
You religious nuts are NOT above the law, and FUCK YOU for saying so.
