By trying to keep the law, you expose yourself as truly lawless disobedient, ungodly, a sinner, unholy, profane, and so forth
"But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe." Romans 3:21-22
"We know that the law is good if one uses it properly." 1 Timothy 1:8
You see, for all God-fearing Christians, the law does not apply. The righteousness in us powered by the Holy Spirit makes us immune to any law of the land.
So..are you trying to show us how absurd your religious beliefs are??
When they referred to the "Law" weren't they referring to the Ten Commandments (Thou shalt not kill, steal, lie, commit adultery, malign, etc..).
How as "Christians" are you supposed to not be "..trying to keep the law.."? Would trying to always tell the truth be "..trying to keep the law.."? Would trying not to give into temptation and have an affair with some super hot woman be "..trying to keep the law.."?
How about somebody who kills people, lies, steals, maligns, and cheats on his wife -- can he argue that his behavior is "proof" that he -- as a Christian -- is not "..trying to keep the law.."!
Wait... now that wouldn't work because then he wouldn't be "righteous" and he wouldn't have the "..righteousness.. given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.."............
So............................ if the "Christians" are not keeping the law -- then they must not be "righteous" men. They must not be "Christians"... They don't possess the righteousness that would have been given to them if they had faith in Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And............. as this profound lesson from Paul teaches us we must not try to keep the Law -- because "..by trying to keep the law, you expose yourself as truly lawless disobedient, ungodly, a sinner, unholy, profane, and so forth."
SO DON'T "TRY"! WAIT A SECOND.. YOU ARE TRYING!!!! YES YOU ARE!!! YOU ARE DEFINITELY "TRYING"!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE NOT FOOLING ME!!!!!!!! YOU ARE NO CHRISTIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that the Christians are lying when they argue that you are not "trying" to keep the LAW! And telling a lie breaks the Law --Thou shalt not lie.
Therefore they are not really "Christians"!! They are not really "righteous" men!!
This is all so confusing................
