As I said in another thread give me some Linkin Park, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, Atreyu, Godsmack, Evanescence and I'm happy.
Some other favs are Three Days Grace, Spineshank, Greenday, Lacuna Coil, My Chem, 30 Seconds From Mars, Rise Against and I'm starting to get quite heavily into what they call symphonic metal (Nightwish, Epica ... Epica are really good from an atheist perspective too, check some of their lyrics out).
Older music ... Queen is OK I suppose (certainly they did some classics) but I would probably only buy their hits. The ones I like are Metallica, Guns 'n Roses, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi, Thin Lizzy and stuff like that. Also like classics like Pink Floyd "Dark Side Of The Moon" & "Wish You Were Here", Santana "Moonflower", "Supernatural" & greatest hits.
Before I got into rock 'n nu-metal I was into funk and jazz funk, also a fair pit of late 70's punk (Stranglers, 999, Pistols) and 80's white boy dance (Kershaw, Japan, Spandau, Haircut 100, Frankie) and some stuff I can't quite classify like Devo and early Ultravox (John Foxx leading not Midge Ure).
