Could Barack Obama be an Atheist?

Obama is a politician first. So is just about everyone who becomes president nowadays. They're going to do whatever it takes to get themselves elected. Notice how religion is such a big deal in elections? Everyone has to pray to Jesus in public and quote the Bible and their churche are scrutinized (Jerimian Wright and the Mormon church, for example). So it's really impossible to know what Obama's beliefs on the superatural really are if his beliefs are outside the mainstream. He could be a secret Muslim and he'd never tell anyone. He could be an atheist and not tell anyone. He could be a scientologist and keeps it secret simply because coming out would be political suicide.

I don't think he's an atheist, though. Faux News has been putting him under extreme scrutiny. If they found any solid information saying Obama is an atheist, they would be letting us know every second of every day in every way they could think of to tell it to us. The only real possibility for that to not be the case would be that they've found evidence that he's an atheist but they're dismissing it simply because they think they can attack him better by constantly calling him a Muslim.
