Let me see if I can get you on the same page.
My responses started when a picture of Mecca was posted.
I simply pointed out that it was a monument to superstition.
Someone, I have to look back, but someone said it was not.
Then I explained that there are other monuments, such as the Pyramids which were a monument to the Egyptian superstition that the sun was a god. No sane person today believes the sun is a god. Do you?
They claimed that it brings people of all classes all over the world. I pointed out that so do Churches and and Buddhist Temples. So does the Acropolis in Greece. So do soccer games and NFL games. But having a favorite team or even watching a sport is not a requirement to eat or breath or survive. You can play other sports or watch other sports or not watch sports at all.
My point is that building a building does not make a god real, otherwise the sun would be a god. Having a superstition, like lucky socks, does not mean you won the game because you wore those lucky socks.
Mecca is pretty. So are Buddhist temples. So are some Churches. So are the Pyramids. But none of those buildings make the god/s of those traditions real.
Up to speed now?
