You are right that, due to their physical bodies, Lesbians are not nearly as effective transmitters of HIV as are gay men.

However, there is a different set of health issues which goes along with Lesbianism, though I think its probably fair to say that they are not as equally serious as HIV, for the individual or society.

Such as?

Bacterial vaginosis, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, heavy cigarette smoking, alcohol abuse, intravenous drug use, and prostitution were present in much higher proportions among female homosexual practitioners.(ref 1)

Intravenous drug abuse was nearly six times as common in this group.(ref 2)

In one study of women who had sex only with women in the prior 12 months, 30 percent had bacterial vaginosis.(ref 3)

Bacterial vaginosis is associated with higher risk for pelvic inflammatory disease and other sexually transmitted infections. (Ref 4)

Would you care to provide evidence for this baseless assertion? Statistics in favour of nonsense like this hasn't been around since the 80's so far as I'm aware. HIV being a "gay disease" has been proven a myth by about every respectable medical institution. Google it.

Male homosexuals are the demographic most at risk from HIV, due to both the disordered nature of homosexual 'sex' and the frequently reckless sexual behaviour in gay male communities.

I would agree, but I don't really think that is an accurate picture of a gay persons daily life, is it?

I'm not claiming prejudice doesn't exist, but there is no widespread hatred or even dislike of gay people.

I was merely pointing out that some people would, given (as stated) some people will abort because their baby has a minor aesthetic defect, even one which can be easily fixed by surgery (e.g. cleft pallete).
