I suppose if the race was limited of brain but able to take orders and do violence a use could be found.
If the race has inferior social skills but are good with the numbers, we'll pay them well and keep a slight distance.
A race that is adept at smiling while cheating with an inferior grasp of what's commonly accepted as morality, sales and political functions have to be done by some one.
