I was referring to receptivity. There is much wisdom to be found, not only in one's one faith tradition, but those of others as well and observations of people and nature. Thoughtful people are open to consider various sources of information about spiritual matters. But people who love only themselves are not only unable to receive unexpected wisdom, they are actively hostile God and twist everything holy to conform to their own opinions.
As an example of such twisting, every now and then, some anti-theist will mock passages of the scriptures, usually Gen 1:1, by rewriting them to suit their own warped understanding of scripture. They have no desire to understand anything and only make fools of themselves.
