Recently, I heard a story of a local girl near me who has autism. She was drugged and raped by an older man for a few days before wandering home to negligent parents. Sickening. Think of how terrifying it was for that little girl, who already struggles with daily life.
Now tell me, which is more comforting? Knowing it happens because there is no "big man in the sky" to stop it? Or knowing that there is a god but he stands by and watches as she is violated and tortured? And does nothing?
This is why not believing in god, at times, has been a comfort for me.
and how many other horrible things were happening to other people at the same time?
should God have stopped the autistic girls rape and not the other horrid things happening to others?
why or why not?
how about the horrid things last week, last year, 100 years ago, et al.
why or why not?
