How can a finite action with finite consequences be eternal?
Because the sin is against God and He is eternal, only God can remove sin. If a sin is not removed it is eternal.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
