I would say that you either have a belief or you don't. Would you not say that belief is an absolute? You can't have half a belief.
A theist is someone who actually believes there is a god. You do not have that belief, therefore you are not a theist, therefore you are an atheist. You admit that you cannot know if there is a god or not so you must be an agnostic atheist.
