God called me to be an evangelist, when I first became a Christian I looked down on evangelism, I was more interested in academic philosophy. God called me to do evangelism through signs and wonders and showed me how, despite the degree to which evangelists are ridiculed and disrespected (or perhaps because of that), evangelism is something that God values highly because it deals with people being reunited to God and pursuing holiness.

If you want to follow Jesus, you have to follow Him completely, then you will experience the Holy Ghost. Otherwise you will experience nothing. You don't have to start off expecting to receive everything though, but that is the way to receive everything.
