I always read stories like this online, and honestly I would be lying if I did not state that I am lucky to have never experienced anything like it. I cannot imagine what it is like to go through something so horrendous. I imagine, since I have never been in a fight in my entire life, that I would be beaten up pretty badly if any religious crazies decided to jump me.
The three men who did that to you should be held accountable for their actions, and I am glad that you will be pressing charges. My only concern is that gay hate crimes, especially in areas where you live, seem to not be taken as seriously by the authorities as other crimes.
And do not let their ignorance prevent you from ever wearing such a shirt in public again. Do not let them win by cowering to their obvious bigotry. Stay strong, heal, and just be yourself.
