The "jesus" of the religion is a fictional character - clearly made up by lots of different stories over the centuries - embellished and exaggerated to the extreme.
There is not a single piece of evidence that we have that can be dated to the supposed time of the christ that even mentions his name. (and it would not have been "jesus"). His supposed time was not some ancient cave dwellers time - it was a time of powerful empires and the Golden Age of Rome - and that of Egypt - both as well documented as many much later eras. We have millions of records from both empires - and knowledge of things as esoteric as turtle races - and even have knowledge of a number of so called "messiahs" both before and after that time -- but there is simply no reason to believe the stories of the christ are singularly about a being that fulfills ALL of the claims - which themselves contradict each other and cannot be true.
Whether there was a human "leader" of the gang of eight whose real life was a "beginning" for the stories is unlikely to be known.

YOU mentioned him - and there is NO reason to believe that YOU have any information that can establish he was real
Josephus and Tacitus were BOTH NOT from the supposed time of the christ - and could not be eye witnesses
THAT they heard of the christ from deluded believers is all that is true in this case.
