He's too laid back, level headed, and forgivng. No wonder the Jews rejected him. The god they came to know was uptight, irrational, and merciless.
Either Jehovah went through some serious reconstructive psychotherapy, or Jesus was a new god altogether.
Since Jesus is a composite character of fiction - the jews did not reject a person - they rejected a STORY.
However - if the christ had been real - the jews would have had LOTS of real reasons to reject his claims - which are heresy to the jewish religion
1- In the story - The christ claimed to be the son of god - the messiah was to be a Human fathered son of the line of David - ONLY the father's line was considered in those days - so the christ could not be the messiah
2 - The christ could not be the messiah - the messiah was to reconstruct the temple of jerusalem the third time - but in the time of the christ it had not yet been destroyed the second time.
3 - THe claim of a new covenant was heresy to the jews. THe jewish religion says that ALL gods word is good - and will not change. So a god does not change its mind - and change the covenant. IT can ADD to the covenant - but once it has promised something - the promise is set in stone and will always be true.
4 - Claiming to be the SON of god itself was heresy - and the idea of the trinity is also heresy to the jews.
Among the greatest problems with the stories is the claim that the christ taught in temples. The sanhedrin would NEVER have allowed that - he was a heretic. Especially in Jerusalem - where the temple was equivalent to the xtian Vatican - and would never have allowed a heretic in.
