I think we're splitting hairs over definitions. I haven't seen the origianl context, but you can see from my brief objection where I think the problem lies.
God never ever commits murder. God kills justly. He is incapable of evil. If your interpretation of his act is evil, yet the intention of the original author is different: as testified by the authors parallel description of that God as righteous and wholly good, then the onus is upon you to demonstrate the error. You don't get to state black is white without demonstrating it. That's what you want, but I require more of the subject than you do apparently.
Maybe Drich, like you, gets it wrong. Drich isn't God. He has no need to be perfect. Neither did you as a Christian.
