I think that sometimes, especially in the case of food, we are either so far removed from some issue in either distance or time that it fails to come across as serious as it actually is. Even more mystifyingly, in the case of this particular subject, I've heard people say "well, that doesn't happen anymore" - no, it doesn't - because we pasteurize our fucking milk.......

LOL, in the case of raw milk Min, the cat food is most often more expensive than the people food. "The Poor" aint downing Bubba's Super Fresh Raw Milk - they're on WIC, getting the good shit. Speaking of, we used to peddle some of that catfood (and other luxury goods) at a market stand that helped to foot the bill of some water conservation research- the customers regularly remarked about how healthy my table must be (as a producer of their trendy goods) - I always got a kick out of reminding them that they didn't pay me enough to be able to afford to eat the shit that I grew, or the shit that I clubbed for them.
