Yes, it's linux steam.

Windows Steam is a disaster through Wine on an NTFS file system due to file corruption (documented on Valve wiki). My shared partition for all three OS (Windows 7, Ubuntu, Snow Leopard) is NTFS.

I have wine operating for Starcraft 2 (Sound has a slight delay/wah-wah effect and match making takes well over 50 seconds to do anything like load a race selection panel before I give up).
