The northern part of Somalia has effectively broken apart from Somalia. They formed their own country of Somaliland, but it's not been internationally recognized, aside from a few African countries. When talking about Somalia, it's necessary to determine if one is speaking about Hergessa or Mogadishu, they are very different entities. Hergessa being the capital of Somaliland, which does provide a center of central government for Somaliland. Mogadishu the capital of Somalia, which currently has a very weak central government and is in a general state of anarchy.
I think this is the beginning of a trend, and other groups are going to want and attempt to break away from their countries and form their own. Like the shatter-belt region in Europe, the Balkans.
can u name anyothers???
