"The Shadow Over Innsmouth." is a personal favorite story which was made into a decent movie: "Dagon" There is a Call of Cthulu video game called, "Call of Cthulu: Dark Corners of the Earth" that allows you to play as the investigator from that story. There is an encounter with the rugose cones from the planet Yith in the game that is freaky and a sendup to a different story from the Lovecraft Mythos. If you really dig H.P.'s work you should find a copy of the Necronomicon authored by Simon (it is a work of fiction and the "Simon" version borrows heavily from Sumerian lore so it is, ye verily, interesting) which shouldn't be too hard to find.
