Well, the last movie I saw in a theatre was The Great Gatsby. While there's nothing really false to Fitzgerald, per se, (except maybe the inexplicable framing story of Nick writing the novel to cope with his traumas) the style is so hyperactive it's utterly annoying. Not everything has to look like a music video, Baz Luhrman.
But the last movie I've watched on a DVD was Fando y Lis, a film by Alejandro Jodorowsky. It was the first of his seven features; five if you don't count the ones he disowned, and four if you don't count the upcoming Dance of Reality, which hasn't even been released yet, and, since I've only seen The Holy Mountain, El Topo, and that film, I have to say it's likely the weakest film he didn't disown.
