This is very laughable (all responses)! When you've experienced God through Jesus.... and I mean personally, not through groups.... there is no way you can say what praying is worth! NONE!

People say the same thing about LSD and shrooms. You're not high, are you?

Prayer transcends: time, space and understanding. You won't know just what (far reaching) effect prayers have until we meet God.

We have to wait till we meet him to find out if prayer is effective? I thought Christians could see the benefits of prayer during their mortality on Earth. Which one is it? You can't have both.

I, and my friends & family have prayed for many, MANY things, and can't think of [one time] they weren't answered in "some way". Not ONE!

Oh, so we don't need to meet God to find out just how effective our prayers are. Glad you cleared that up in your next statement. I'm so thankful that someone as clear and concise as you is on this forum. You put PeterPriesthood to shame.

God doesn't work in our time. He works in His. If there is a secret to prayer? That's it! I'd use an analogy...but you just twist them up like a party balloon!

If you'd use an analogy that was appropriate and used in the correct context, then perhaps we'd put more stock in it. Jesus used better parables than you, and he probably wasn't even a real person!

If (at all possible) you could remove your animosity against God alone(not religious men, including me!) and ask, you will recieve.

It takes equal parts of: "believing and asking". The promise is there!

You assume everyone who doesn't attain the desired effect from this promise is either 1. Lying about trying or 2. They didn't try hard enough. Where's your faith in your fellow man? Let me guess...your answer would be, "Even if they did try hard enough, God works on his own time." Bullshit. There's all kinds of promises/covenants that he makes with his people throughout the OT and the NT, and he always swears up and down that he'll uphold it. I'd say he's a goddamn liar! We have every right to be pissed at him, and that's being pissed at something that doesn't even exist!
