I've always wondered about the motivations behind this. Is it truly arrogance that causes them to think like this, or is this simply a defense mechanism that causes them to take an arrogant position? In other words, does Drich simply believe he knows better than everyone else, or does he subconsciously desire confirmation of his beliefs so vehemently that his mind is forced into taking the position that he must know better than else?
I tend to lean towards the latter, so I try not to get riled up the nonsense that is spewed forth.
Having had run ins with insulated enclaves of Christians has me convinced it's the former. Those raised more 'integrated' may well be the latter.
