Alright man I'll give you a few tips on picking up women.
First off, like many have mentioned here you gotta have confidence. But not only do you need to have it, you need to show it. Anything that comes out of your mouth when your talking to a chick...own it. Even if you say something that you might think is awkward or even wrong...just own it. Don't try and cover it up or apologize. You didn't say something awkward, she took it that way. You weren't wrong, she is. Play it cool and keep it smooth. Most women love a man that leads and takes charge simple as that. You talk to her and you gotta keep the conversation going.
Second, you gotta get her frustrated/angry/shocked at you. That sounds a bit strange and it's almost like negging on a girl, but not quite. The idea is to get her emotions running hot, and then you flip them on her. Say something outrageous and a bit sexual too. It's gotta be outrageous to a) spark those hot emotions and b) clearly imprint yourself in her mind. You also have to imply something sexual because if you don't then there is a good chance that she is not going to think about you in a sexual way, and that's how you get stuck in the friend zone.
I'll give you an example how you put these steps together that just recently happened to me. I'm at a barn party at my friend's place, there's a bunch of people I know playing beer pong and there's also some cute girls hanging out by the table. I head over to the table, sign up, and then go over next to one of the girls. Looked her right in the eyes, said "whats up" and striked up a conversation. We chat (make sure to tell her she looks good at some point, just toss it in but don't make a big woop about it) and have some nice small talk about her classes or whatever. After about 10-15 minutes the conversation lapses and I initiate step 2 (outrageous comment). Out of left field I looked right at her and said, "I'd put money that you don't like it up the ass." BOOM! Bomb dropped. (I would probably start with something lighter, just remember it has to be sexually implicit in some way.) Now the look on her face...priceless. And she was a bit shocked and off put by what I said. Now this is the important part. At this point she's a little mad at me, I completely overstepped the boundaries of what I'm not supposed to say to people I just met 15 minutes prior. But now you have to flip that anger, and turn it into something good. You gotta keep the emotions high but turn them from a negative to a positive. She says, "Why would you even say that to me?" To which I respond, "Look don't take it the wrong way, I'm just saying in my opinion the beautiful girls don't seem to like it." Essentially turning that initial outrageous comment into a compliment, I flipped the anger. I was bold and not only did I get away with it, she liked it. All back to smiles and giggles.
And at that point, just keep acting cool like in the first step and throw step 2 in there when things start to fizzle out. But also, don't hang around her all night either. You don't want to give her the impression that you're needy. Chat the room up and have a good time. If you happen to come across her again, maybe that's when you ask for the number. You gotta act interested, and at the same time uninterested in your interest of her. I didn't get with that girl that night, or even yet. But I got her number, and I've been flirting with her over text.
Just ultimately, play it cool.
****Also I forgot to mention. This mainly works only on girls in their 20's. And be prepared to improvise. This is the basics but every girl is different and you gotta play it differently.
