And there isn't a strategy of getting back if things don't work out, so no money set aside for that. But what if something happens and they cannot afford to send living supplies anymore? Then we have a band of people stranded on mars.
Lol, I think it's becoming very clear that I'm not made for colonization. But I'd love to be a scientist on mars, that'd be cool.
Edit: I would sign up for a generation ship kind of thing though. Because there'd be a more assembled crew of hopefully a few hundred people and it'd be self-sustaining.
It will be made self sustaining. With hydroponics, aquaponics etc. Greenhouse farming with large biodomes. But, as you say, there is still the risk if something happens, or the MO cannot fund anymore. Well, its a risk that one has to take, to colonize any new area or world. So, I guess you let the colonists do their part, then move once everything is settled. Lets meet there someday

Are philandering husbands who dabble as gigolos considered a specialty?
Hehe...an emissions specialist. :p
Yes, anyone can apply. You should try it out
. No matter what background you have, or what your qualifications are. I don't myself think I'm any where a good astronaut candidate, but I believe just being a part of it will make me happy and special. Thats the whole reason I applied.
