So the study of stuff that exists without a reason then. Either there is a reason or there isn't and atheists claim there isn't one. This for most people is a baffling as seems self apparent that they ought to be, an effect will always have a cause.
The current understanding is - physics. That is a reason. Physics. Sorry it's not mystical enough for you. Atheists tend to deny an existential purpose outside of science.
