Back when I gave a shit about football....about 15 years ago....I was a Giant fan who worked with a lot of Jet fans. The one thing I noted was that Giant fans were a lot more realistic. We assumed the team sucked and were pleasantly surprised when they won a game.
Jet fans always thought they were one short step from world domination and couldn't believe it when they lost. Every Monday they would gather around the water cooler and loudly discuss the latest Jet fiasco. I, I must admit, was little comfort to them. One time I asked, "why does the Jet quarterback throw the ball to the team in the other jersey? Did they draw up the play that way?"
Needless to say that got ugly in a hurry.
