Well, partially because I assumed you wouldn't want to characterize your god as having created man to fail automatically, but I guess I forgot who I was talking to.
And also, unlike you I seem to have actually read Genesis; god's questioning tone in the verses post-fruit eating indicates a lack of foreknowledge on this point. If god indeed had foreknowledge, then I'm sure you're familiar with the concept that omniscience, by definition, obstructs free will; if god knew what would happen and everything goes according to his will, then that's oppressive without my needing to say another word. If, as his dialogue suggests, there was a possibility that Adam and Eve would have done differently to what god had predicted, then he has no omniscience.
So, which is it?
