No, it's like a judge giving criminals decades to repent. God doesn't claim fatherhood to all of man.

I'd say it's up to the people who are loved to determine whether the love is there or not. The people being judged obviously aren't going to see it.

If you told me a neighbor of yours was a nice and kind man then proceeded to tell me he was a judge who routinely handed out punishment to criminals, I wouldn't see a contradiction. How come you cannot see that with my god?
