So you have nothing there at all and nothing happens to it and then the universe appears for no reason and life begins because it just does and then it all eventually becomes nothing again and that's it?
If you don't want to believe in the "Christian God" as you call then believe something else as long as you're believing in God you're on the right track, seeing as God most certainly does exist. If you would prefer to do a bit of this.

Then you that's fine as well. I'd argue Christianity is better and has a little bit more evidence but personal choice. Avoid anything like Scientology, at least the Church of Scientology as it's essentially a criminal organisation and ought to be banned.
