I don't mean anything by the things I say, just my personality. So, sorry to everyone. Maybe before I ask y'all questions I should tell y'all more about me.
I don't believe in anything. I like to have facts to back up whatever I believe. That's why I got out of the church. When I'd ask for proof that the bible was the word of god, many people would simply quote the bible back to me. It's circular reasoning. I've had a crazy hard life, and I do feel like there is an energy in the universe that gets you through things. I don't credit Jesus for it or anything. But there's something in music, in movies, in nature, etc.
I think religion has held civilization back. Or progress, however you want to word it. I've read the bible. I've read the Quran. I've studied different religions. I've went to many different churches. Talked to many different people about their beliefs. I've even taken a worldview class, a few times. It was awful by the way, the teachers are always Christian and they like to pretend to be open minded but most of the time they aren't. And I'm usually the only one in there who doesn't believe.
I have often been asked these questions I ask y'all, and that's why I am asking.
"Free will is an illusion. Thought and consciousness are simply processes and conditions of the brain. It is bound entirely by scientific laws. We make choices and we can make some that to others would be pretty damned confusing or illogical, but we can never escape that are brains are nothing more than self aware computers."
