Why is having a mod on the ignore list against rules?

I'm going to have to agree with Germans on this one, and I believe that it is a rule that should be discussed.

Generally speaking I don't use ignore lists, however those that do should be allowed to ignore mods, if those mods are participating in the discussions with members.

It shouldn't interfere with your ability to moderate because: a. you can still edit the posts of the person, b. before contacting people by PM it's my understanding that you would ordinarily consult with other mods anyway - meaning any one of them could PM instead, and c. importantly it lets you know that the person on the ignore list probably shouldn't be the mod to send a PM to someone. Finally d. if there is such an important matter that requires that the mod on the ignore list must personally PM someone, surely they could just modify their profile to un-ignore themself before sending the PM?

With all due respect, if he doesn't want to see you pushing his buttons, surely he should be allowed to utilize the ignore function? I haven't seen you give a convincing argument as to why having you, or another mod, on an ignore list would create a larger problem than the one that it might solve?

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke
