Additionally, you CAN'T control when your kid learns about them. My nephew learned the word "fag" at school when he was 6. Depressing, but true. So we all had to have conversations with him about that word and what it meant and why it was hurtful and how the world isn't all married mommies and daddies. We weren't ready for it, and we're a pretty fucking gay-friendly family. So no, you don't get to choose. Sorry to break it to you. There's always treating your kid like Rapunzel, I guess.
