First: I'm actually one of those women who prefers a goofy/funny partner over a calm and collected one. Have you tried getting to know girls online? Getting to know them a little before meeting them might solve your awkwardness, or at least lessen it a little.
Also, I graduated from college when I was almost 27, and have gone back several times since to further my education. You're never too old to learn new things, and as long as you're making progress, you'll get there eventually.
As for the depression, is that what you're being treated for? Has anyone screened you for PTSD? Sorry I'm asking so many questions. I have a bit of experience with people and brain injuries, so I like to try to help
