You do realize that people can and do have healthy kidneys voluntarily removed for transplant, yes? Somewhat long story, I volunteered one of mine to my father - it was declined, not because of ethics, not because the procedure isn't done, but because he was not a candidate for transplant (his kidney failure was ultimately reversible, and other mitigating factors did not allow him to undergo such a procedure).
