To get to Heaven you must love the Lord and your neighbor as yourself. You must do both. If you do not love the Lord then you love only the natural world. If you do not love your neighbor as yourself, then you love yourself above all others. So…
If you do not believe in the God, you go to Hell.
If you say, “I can be good without God,” you go to Hell.
If you defy God by saying, “I will not worship Him,” you go to Hell.
If you profess belief in God, but do not love your neighbor as yourself, you go to Hell.
If you profess belief in God, but do not repent of your sins you go to Hell.
According to Swedenborg, those who sincerely follow their religion and demonstrate good will charity to others will be able to partake in the joys of Heaven, i.e. they will recognize the Lord as Lord. The advantage of the Christian religion is that its truth fully illuminates and makes known the Divine Love and Wisdom of the Lord making victory over sin easier.
