And the doctors receives money for doing so, so for him, there is no higher truth in the abortion debate, no "women's rights" dilemma, only money, and this is the worth of the whole abortion debate in my eyes.
But it has more to do with keeping the government from telling women what they can or can't do with their own body. That's why it's a privacy issue, and not simply a receiving services for cash issue like you want to trivialize it.
The whole abortion debate would be no different if a bunch of fundamentalist Christians decided that men getting vasectomies is an affront to God* and wrote it into law. It's not their decision what I can or can't do with my body, it's mine.
*Like the Catholic church officially believes, though I personally know many Catholics who have had vasectomies.
