As you say. That one cannot easily prove a negative does not increase the value of probability however infinitesimal it may be. One could Rank the likelihood by comparison, eg as likely as Thor being real.
I like the uncertainty. It's sets scientists, who are willing to say "we don't know" aside from people who claim certainty in either direction. The total lack of evidence is not total evidence of lack.
Otherwise, it's just equal and opposite dogma.
