Don't remember Tails's or Amy's (probably because they were forgettable) Sonic's and Gamma's were sort of okay (I guess). Chao garden was the best part. The cutscenes were hilariously bad (see below, especially their faces, like at 9:00)
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle: Chao garden was still the best part. Still do not want Knuckles's levels. Sonic levels were not too bad, but classic is still much better.
...
Sonic Unleashed: Normal levels were pretty good for pure speed, but werehog was just...bad. Pointless dialogue is pointless.
Ah, I loved SADX, great atmospheres, true Sonic racing, interesting character development for Chaos and Gamma, and totally with you on chao garden. The music, the interactions, the growth... so much love there.
To think a great game like this 1 was released 1998.
The next game I played from Sonic was Sonic Heroes. Forgettable story, fun gameplay, and still great atmosphere and music. The game was never well-founded in story, but it was certainly playable otherwise.
Sonic Unleashed was mentioned. Someone bought me this game for christmas. I played it, did not really enjoy the story, but Sonic at this point is not known for making sense really, just being extremely playable. Well, I loved playing as Sonic the Hedgehog, not so much Sonic the Werehog. Just the idea of a noodly armed shit defiles Sonic. Smashing just to progress through the game changed the genre quite a bit. And the other thing was the extensive use of puzzles. I can admire some puzzle games, but I just did not enjoy the slow-paced adventuring in a Sonic game. They failed me there. I loved racing as the hedgehog, like through the oriental level and battling the dragon, but otherwise I was disgusted with the game and quit after the treetop level.
