(December 7, 2008 at 4:52 pm)Psalm 23 Wrote: So, this particular atheist seems to like displaying O.T verses. Shall I display the verses that say "It's acceptable by law to cut off the heads of atheists?" I wonder what this guy would say about that? I mean, afterall, he is displaying Bible verses...
I'd like that actually, since you'd be further proving his point that the OT is barbaric.
(December 7, 2008 at 4:52 pm)Psalm 23 Wrote: You don't "Believe" in God. Atheists demand evidence before they can believe in something, right? So, where did you receive the evidence that God does not exist? Or are you a non-believer by a leap of faith?
Actually, an interesting point. My answer to the question is that I don't technically believe/disbelieve in god, I just think that his existence is so very very unlikely that I might as well say I don't believe in him. On the flip side, a believer "believes" in god the same way I believe in my father. I think it is fair to say that the belief of a believer and the unbelief of an atheist, for the most part, are quite different except in name.
Quick point about Horus- I recommend to you a book by Tom Harpur, a christian, called "The Pagan Christ." Many interesting things that you will choose to discount because they disagree with you, but well researched and backed up nonetheless. I was not comparing Horus to Jehova, but to Jesus, and if you look into it you will find the many many similarities (around 180), which came FIRST with Horus. Further, the sun gods of Egypt, of which there are three, (Osiris, Ra, Horus) are all interchangeable.
