I like the bit in the bible in which Jesus gives rulings regarding how hard to beat slaves. I like the bit where he doesn't condemn slavery too. Some nights I read the bible and some nights I read the hungry caterpillar, depends what sorta bedtime story i'm in the mood for.

I have noticed that if you ask a fundie whether they would prefer to live in a society in which same-sex marriage is legal or a society that allows slavery -- they get mad.

As I see it, they reason that this question bothers them so much is that it puts them in a bind. They are forced to admit that contemporary secular morality is obviously more advanced and rational than Biblical barbarism, or admit to being psychotic.

I'm a Fundie.
I would prefer to live in a society without slavery or same-sex 'marriage'.

Did I also see someone say that slavery was basically preferable to homosexuality? I find it hillarious how some fundies still see gayness as this fucking evil sheet of shit swooping down on society, rather than just some thing that shouldn't really bother anyone.
