Min.... I'd say the actual mechanism for the invention of gods was a bit more stretched out.
Maybe it went something like...
- Why do some of us die? I don't want to die...
- Hmmm... this meat is better cooked than raw! Let's add some herbs... wowwww dudeeee... I see dead people!!!
- I can speak to people who are dead. They convey their messages through me!
- I want nothing to do with your dead people... I speak to the sun and moon... they give us life!
- All the animals and plants, planets, stars are spirits. The stars are the spirits of our dead ancestors.
- Only animals have spirits. The sun is above all.
- The spirits (gods) sort of look like people.
- The gods have a hierarchy, Zeus, Jupiter, Ra, Odin, etc... are the leaders of all gods.
- There is only one god.
In parallel with all these: pff, dude, seriously? wake up!
