(December 8, 2008 at 10:10 am)Psalm 23 Wrote: Now we know Jesus Christ was in fact worshipped in 33 A.D, just as the Gospels have described.
Erm...no we don't. Like the article says, people have claimed this sort of thing in the past and have been wrong. Why don't we wait until the true results come out before jumping to conclusions based on your faith.
Psalm 23 Wrote:Because people like Michael Travesser are preaching, "The sky is falling, the sky is falling!!!" He is taking Biblical verses and twisting them, and scaring people into thinking the end of the world is near.
We have evidence that Michael Travesser exists. We also have evidence people like David Koresh existed as well. But I don't think these men have any chance of 32% of the world believing they are God in the flesh. These men are cult leaders, only a very few (deranged) follow them.
What does the Bible say about "Many will come in the name of God?" I think any true Bible reader should see these verses, and steer clear of people like The Branch Dividians...etc,etc,etc..
I think the main goal of this article is to question those people who believe Jesus Christ was nothing but an invented story decades after his 'supposed' death and ressurection.
What exactly separates Michael Travesser from Jesus Christ though? They were both people who claimed that they were the son of Gods. The only difference between them is that 2000 years ago people weren't as skeptical of claims, and were more inclined to believe on no evidence at all (the scientific method wasn't invented until a few hundred years ago). All you need to start a religion is to get a few people to believe you, and then teach their children, who in turn teach their children, etc.
