They are all actually quite distinguishable entities. They do not often make their allegiances a secret; they end up fighting each other almost as much as they fight their actual enemies. There are also many other ways of determining which group is operating and in which ways. Speak to a strategician if you ever get the chance and they'll tell you all the many ways different means of intel come to determine who is doing or who has done what, from method of attack to discipline level, effectiveness, coordination, and ability of the attackers, and also from equipment. And even sometimes simple standard garb.
