Well...I am involved with a Golden Retriever rescue so, I hope I know something about them.
Dash was a rescue dog in a sense. I got him at 8 months old from a woman who had to give him up because he husband didn't like dogs and was "being cruel to him." He was very leery at first but soon learned I was an absolute sucker for dogs and now he imagines he is the human in our relationship. Like all GR's (?) (I had German Shepherds all my life) he is extremely affectionate and needs lots of affection in return.
