Our ancestors fought and died for 500,000 years so that you could be here. We beat the apes, the Neanderthals, all other species and have survived countless self inflicted wars until the point when we could acknowledge where we came from -- the truth. We created mythologies to explain the pain and suffering, but the best pallative to nihilism is to think -- my ancestors fought for me to be here today -- I'm not about to give up now just because our current dominant mythology has been proven false. I don't require a sky god from Arabia or Jerusalem to find meaning in creation. If anything we are the most advanced life form we have ever found yet in the universe -- and its our job to figure out the rest of it.
I find these documentaries to be spiritual in their beauty -- the CGI is so good these days space documentaries are quite relaxing:
