I'm glad you're feeling better already. Sometimes when we think we need to discover the great mysteries of the universe, all we actually needed was to talk with others for a moment. Laying our thoughts out for others to see is such a relief sometimes.

Kudos to you for understanding the logical consequences of you atheism and not trying to rationalize or candy coat the truth with vague appeals to not worry and be happy. If you wish to remain an atheist then IMNSHO the most noble stance is to remain defiant in the face of inevitable defeat.

P1) Through spirituality, I [you] am able to find meaning in life;
P2) The spirituality is unlikely to be reasonable and is likely false;
C1) You are able to find meaning through something which is likely false and not real.

Taking C1:

P1) It is possible to find meaning through something that is likely not real;
P2) Things that aren't real cannot make life meaningful;
P3) You find life meaningful this way;
C2) Your finding meaning is likely caused by something that is not this spirituality.

Taking C2:
P1) You are finding meaning in life.
P2) This meaning likely comes from some other source than the spirituality.
C3a) You can find meaning in life from some other source.
C3b) The meaning you find comes from something other than the spirituality.
C3c) There are non-spiritual sources of meaning.

Taking C3c:
P1) Life can have meaning through non-spiritual sources;
P2) Nihilism posits that life has no meaning from non-spiritual, non-transcendant sources;
C4) Nihilism is not true.

Our ancestors fought and died for 500,000 years so that you could be here. We beat the apes, the Neanderthals, all other species and have survived countless self inflicted wars until the point when we could acknowledge where we came from -- the truth. We created mythologies to explain the pain and suffering, but the best pallative to nihilism is to think -- my ancestors fought for me to be here today -- I'm not about to give up now just because our current dominant mythology has been proven false. I don't require a sky god from Arabia or Jerusalem to find meaning in creation. If anything we are the most advanced life form we have ever found yet in the universe -- and its our job to figure out the rest of it.

I find these documentaries to be spiritual in their beauty -- the CGI is so good these days space documentaries are quite relaxing:

What you may eventually discover, if you allow yourself, is that there are some parts of life, such as your own mind-reality tunnel, that you create while others are forced upon you. You choose to accept some, not others. God, intelligence, life itself to some extent, meaning, you create those for yourself, some rationally, others out of fear or anxiety or depression. I like to find ways to calm those ills and doubts with the most fulfilling activites in life I enjoy: reading, learning from others, thinking through problems and dilemmas, nature, animals, etc. Not everyone thinks like I do, so be it. Just don't brainwash kids with fear and your own bullshit projections, that's primarily why I promote secularism/naturalism/atheism. God does not exist in any objective sense. No one can demonstrate this.
