1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: (Hebrews 1:1-3)
God speaks through His Word. People who claim extra-Biblical revelation through mystical things are in danger of abandoning the faith (if they have not already done so). The message this person proposes is far removed from the original message of the Christ. Faith comes from hearing the word, not from signs and wonders.
Why presuppose that everyone who says they are Christian yet act like idiots, aren't Christians?
When you meet another Christian you have more than one way to find out if they're a Christian. Like whether or not they are humble. If they aren't humble, though, you just assume it must be something god is working on with them, or that they aren't very strong in their faith. Till they embarrass you, of course-- then it's "they ain't no true Christian!"
When your only prerequisite for being a Christian is to believe Christ died for our sins: then even murderers and rapists qualify as a Christian.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
