Which would make a good deal of sense, given the number of times god is surprised by stuff, or has to ask people questions, in the bible. The other alternative is a kind of Doctor Manhattan-style predetermination thing, where everything, even god acting surprised at things he knows will happen, is written, and he's just playing his part the same as anyone else, just with foreknowledge.
